Today marked the final day of a six-week course in Colaiste Choilm Secondary School in Swords, in which 24 Transition Year students in the school took part in a programme run by Sporting Fingal.
Each week, the students took part in interactive discussions with Sporting Fingal’s Conan Byrne and Club Promotions Officer Conor Cullen, with topics ranging from Healthy Eating and Nutrition, to Anti-Racism. The students also received coaching sessions from the club each week.
In January, the students will begin their FAI Kickstart coaching badges, having raised money through a raffle in the school of signed Sporting Fingal shirts.
Speaking about the programme, Conan Byrne said “We’re working with the schools as much as possible, because the kids there are the future of Sporting Fingal. This was our first TY programme and it was absolutely brilliant, I’m sure it’s something we’ll be expanding on next year. The lads in the class were great fun, got involved and were a credit to their school.”
