St. Patrick’s Boys’ National School, Donabate had two very special guests today. Ex-pupil and FAI Ford Cup winner Dinny Corcoran was there, along with the FAI Cup trophy itself.
Dinny, who is currently on-loan at First Division side Shelbourne, brought the trophy to his old school, as Sporting Fingal continue their tour of Fingal schools.
In the afternoon, the trophy also received great welcomes as it went from Balbriggan Educate Together, to Balrothery National School, and finally to Fingal Community College in Swords.
“There’s been such great interest from schools in getting a visit from the trophy, that we’ve already got a waiting list for the next few weeks.” said Club Promotions Officer Conor Cullen. “It’s brilliant. We’re visiting five, six, even seven schools and clubs a week, and the reaction at each one is fantastic. But we still have a lot more schools to get to.”
