Question of Sport fundraiser for Special Olympics on Tonight!

Thursday, February 25, 2010 By John Fallon @ 4:53 PM :: Club News

The Coast Inn, Skerries is the place to be tonight (Thursday 25 February) as the Sporting Fingal Special Olympics Team hosts 'A Question of Sport' with teams of four battling it out to become quiz-kings. All funds from the event go towards the Ireland Games in Limerick 2010 so all support would be appreciated.

Sports DJ Bob McKenzie will be holding court for the occasion which kicks off at 8.30pm. A table of 4 people costs €40 and a number of goodies will be given during the night's entertainment.

The Sporting Fingal Special Olympics team, which Irish international Kevin Kilbane launched in January 2009, has been chosen to help launch the 2010 Ireland games on September 10 this year. Richard Dunne, Sporting’s head coach, will take four of selected six players to the launch to be held in Limerick University.

This will again highlight the great work of all in Sporting Fingal's Special Olympics team.

Thomas Leonard collected the team’s Player of the year for last season while Peter Battersby scooped the leading goalscorer accolade.

To ensure the good work is maintained this year, fund-raisers such as this Quiz night are essential and everyone is welcome to support the event.
