Sporting Fingal defender Lorcan Fitzgerald has sustained a fractured cheekbone from his accidental collision with teammate Kenny Browne early on last Friday's game at Bohemians and will be sidelined for between up to six weeks.
Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley said: "This is disappointing news for Lorcan and ourselves, especially following the manner of our defeat at Bohs. Lorcan showed great courage to play on and finish the game and we wish him a speedy recovery, hoping he returns to action as soon as possible.
“However, we have a hungry squad of players and whoever comes in to replace Lorcan for this Friday’s first home game of the campaign against Sligo Rovers is more than capable of doing a decent job."
Sporting Fingal play their first home game of the Airtricity League Premier Division on Friday night against Sligo Rovers at Morton Stadium (7.45pm).
Adult tickets for home matches are priced at €15, or €10 for a concession. There’s no change on last year’s children’s ticket price of €5, while a family of two adults and two children costs a very reasonable €25 per match.
