Sporting Fingal's successful promotion that sees primary school children admitted free to all home league matches in Morton Stadium during the 2010 season continues for the upcoming UCD game on Friday, June 25.

This venture was launched in April and speaking at the announcement, General Manager Joe Corr, said: “It has always been the intention of the club that in order to open up League of Ireland football to our younger fans we must do everything to encourage their attendances at our home matches.

“We did this last season with our Freddie the Fox Club so it has been agreed that in the interest of promoting match attendance as a recreational activity and considering the current financial constraints on many families, a decision has been taken to allow primary school children free entry to Morton Stadium for all Airtricity league matches.”

In just their maiden campaign in the Premier Division, Fingal have surged to second place in the Airtricity League and hope the public continue to come out in numbers to support Ireland’s leading Community-based club.

Sporting Fingal’s Club Promotion Officer, Conor Cullen said: “We are already doing a huge amount of work in the clubs and schools throughout North County Dublin encouraging children to use sport as part of a healthy lifestyle.

"If we can get school children to become more interested in Irish soccer there is no doubt that they will move from being a spectator of the game to participating in activities being run by their schools and local football clubs. It also feeds into the work we are doing with our partners in the NDSL.”



The new initiative commenced for the game against Bohemians on April 26 and has been a resounding success since.
